The Blue Hen Bass Anglers held their 3rd tournament of the year on June 25th on the Conowingo. The Club had 14 anglers blasting off at safe light from Glen Cove Marina. The day would turn out to be a club record breaker as 11 of the 14 anglers brought limits to the scales. A total of 61 fish were weighed for 106.36 lbs.
When the smoke cleared, Joe Spinelli ended up on top for the 2nd year in a row at this venue. Joe bagged a 5 fish limit for 11.88 lbs giving him the win and a perhaps a spark for a mid season run at a Blue Hen Cup Invitation. Joe narrowly defeated a surging Jim Lane who finished 2nd with 5 fish for 11.54 lbs. Jim also had the lunker of the day with a beautiful 4.26lb largemouth. Jim has now took home or shared lunker honors in all three tournaments so far this year. The 3rd place honors were captured by club President Glenn Tuckmantel. Tuck also had a limit of fish that went for 9.06 lbs. Rounding out the top 5 for the day were Kirk Mason with 9.02 lbs and Gary Snyder with 8.78 lbs.

Things are tightening up as we head into our 4th Tournament of the season. The tournament will take place on the Northeast River on July 15th. This location has been known to produce large bags of fish when the conditions are right. Several anglers our on the verge of breaking into the top 5 spots while the leaders will battle to stay on top. This writer feels that the winning bag will be 16lbs and change.
